What is identity verification?
Identity verification (KYC) is a verification procedure for WhiteBIT TR exchange users, confirming their identity by requesting personal data. The abbreviation itself stands for “Know Your Customer”.
Before undergoing identity verification, you can see how our trading tools work using Demo-tokens. However, identity verification is required for making any deposits and withdrawals, creating and activating WhiteBIT codes.
Identity verification helps to secure your account and keep your funds safe. The process takes only a few minutes and does not require any technical skills. The presence of identity verification is an indicator of the reliability of the exchange. The platform, which does not require any data from you, respectively, does not bear any responsibility to you. In addition, verification prevents money laundering and terrorist financing.
Forbidden countries and territories
Currently, we do not accept identity documents from citizens or residents of the following countries and territories: Afghanistan, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, Territory of Guam, Iran, Yemen, Libya, State of Palestine, Puerto Rico, Somalia, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, The Northern Mariana Islands, USA, Syria, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Sudan, Transnistria, temporarily occupied territories of Georgia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Western Sahara, Federal Republic of Ambazonia, Kosovo, South Sudan, Canada, United Kingdom, Nicaragua, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Myanmar, and temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
How to pass KYC verification on the website?
Go to “Settings” and open the Verification section.
Please note: the verification section is only available to registered users.
1. Accept the processing of your personal data.
2. Enter your phone number. After entering your 10-digit phone number, you will see a green checkmark in the relevant field if the number is entered correctly.
3. Upload your identity document. Upload or take a clear photo of the front and back of your ID card in the relevant field.
4. Video verification. This simplifies and speeds up the verification procedure. Complete the video verification by turning your head from side to side according to the interface instructions.
5. Upload address information. Upload your current residence certificate obtained from E-Devlet (e-government portal) in PDF format to the relevant field.
Important: You can find this document on E-Devlet by searching for "İkametgâh belgesi" (Residence Certificate). When asked which institution it will be given to, you can write WhiteBIT Turkey Teknoloji A.Ş. in the box. We would like to remind you that you need to select the “Kuruma İbraz” (Submission to Institution) option.
6. Fill in your information. Enter your occupation and place of birth in the relevant fields.
Please note: This step is mandatory. If you do not provide information about your occupation and place of birth, your account will be subject to deposit and withdrawal restrictions.
7. Make sure the information and documents you provide are correct. Press the "Next" button and submit your identity verification application. If you need to edit the information in your identity verification form, you can do so by clicking the "Edit" buttons.
8. Complete your identity verification by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra account security. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a code generated by an authentication application that ensures that you are the only person with access to the account.
That's it! You will soon learn the result of your verification. We will send you the results via email as soon as we check your documents. You can also check the status of your account in the "Verification" section if you wish.
There is a possibility that your documents may not be approved, but please don't take it personally. If your information is rejected, we allow you to try again.

How to pass identity verification (KYC) in the mobile application?
Open the "Account Settings" — "Verification" section by clicking on the person icon in the upper left corner.
Important: The identity verification section is only available for registered users who have not completed identity verification.

How long does identity verification take?
Applications are usually processed within 1 hour, but sometimes identity verification can take up to 24 hours.
After your application is processed, you will receive a message with information about the result in your email. If your identity verification request is rejected, the reason will be stated in the email. Also, your status in the Verification section will be updated.
If you made a mistake while going through the verification process, you just need to wait for your request to be rejected. Then you will be able to resubmit your information for review.
