Identity verification (KYC) is a verification procedure for WhiteBIT TR exchange users, confirming their identity by requesting personal data. The abbreviation itself stands for “Know Your Customer”.
Before undergoing identity verification, you can see how our trading tools work using Demo-tokens. However, identity verification is required for making any deposits and withdrawals, creating and activating WhiteBIT codes.
Identity verification helps to secure your account and keep your funds safe. The process takes only a few minutes and does not require any technical skills. The presence of identity verification is an indicator of the reliability of the exchange. The platform, which does not require any data from you, respectively, does not bear any responsibility to you. In addition, verification prevents money laundering and terrorist financing.
Please note: registration, verification and use of services are permitted only to persons who have reached the age of 18.
Which documents are appropriate for KYC?
Only the Republic of Turkey's chip identity card is accepted for identity verification on our exchange.
How to complete identity verification?
In the browser, click on the profile icon in the upper right corner of the site and open the "Verification" section. On the mobile, click on the person icon in the upper left corner and open the "Account Settings" — "Verification" section.
On the verification page, you will see two tiers: Beginner and Basic.
- Beginner: When you create your account and confirm it via e-mail, you will have the Beginner level, which allows you to view our platform tools and use demo tokens.
- Basic: To complete verification and have access to fiat/crypto deposits and fiat, you need to pass the Basic level KYC.
Click the “Start” button next to the Basic level verification.
The identity verification process can only be completed in our application. Therefore, if you are on website, please scan the QR code for further verification.
1. Select your country. Please note that WhiteBIT TR exchange service is only valid for Turkish citizens with an identity card.
2. Select your country of residence. If you reside in any country other than the USA, select "All countries except USA"
Important: If you reside in the USA, your identity verification will not be accepted, even if you are a citizen with the relevant document.
3. Scan your document. Select your document as "identity card" and scan your chipped identity card using your phone's NFC feature. For a successful scan, bring your ID close to the back of your phone.
4. Provide your proof of address. Upload your barcoded residence certificate obtained via E-Devlet as a PDF to the relevant field.
5. Occupation and place of birth. In the form that appears, select your occupation and place of birth from the list. Click the continue button to proceed to the next page.
6. Financial questionnaire. On the next page, you will see our financial questionnaire. Complete our financial questionnaire, which consists of only six questions.
7. Video call. Conduct a video call with our specialist for liveness verification. Follow the instructions of our authorised specialist during the video call.
That's it! You will soon learn your verification result. We will send you the results via e-mail as soon as we check your documents. At the same time, if you wish, you can check the status of your account in the "Verification" section.
There is a possibility that your documents may not be approved, but do not take it personally. If your information is rejected, we allow you to try again.
Please note: it is currently not possible to re-upload documents for KYC verification.

How long does identity verification (KYC) take?
Applications are usually processed within 30 minutes, but in some cases, the identity verification process may take longer.
Once your application has been processed, you will receive an email with information about the result. If your identity verification request is rejected, the reason will be stated in the email. Also, your status in the Verification section will be updated.
If you made a mistake while going through the verification process, simply wait for your request to be rejected. You will then be able to resubmit your information for review.
